We, at Messiah of Israel Ministries, went up to the Holy City of Jerusalem to proclaim God’s love message of salvation. It was a cold and sunny day. Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat was sharing the love of Yeshua with many as the team were praying.
The Scripture that the Holy Spirit gave Zev to proclaim was
2 Samuel 7:14 –
“I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men.”
A young man named Ayal was enjoying prayer in the Kotel (Western wall). Zev walked up and greeted Ayal. Ayal said he lives in Eliat and came especially to pray in Jerusalem. He asked if Zev came to pray as well. Zev told him that he came to Jerusalem to share God’s love. Ayal was puzzled by the statement. Ayal told Zev he has had a lot of health issues and problems. Zev comforted him and asked if he was willing to read healing Scriptures from the Bible. Praise Yeshua, he agreed. Zev opened the Bible to
Psalms 107: 20 –
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
Zev: “God loves you so much and He sent you here to tell you He loves you.” Ayal was happy. He took Zev’s contact information. We pray for his salvation.
Zev continued to share God’s love with many in the Kotel (Western Wall). There was an Orthodox Jew praying and studying Rabbinic books near the Wall. Zev asked Amier if he could join the study. Amier and Zev sat and studied the Written Word near the Kotel.
Amier asked Zev if he studied the Talmud. Zev said to him that he used to many years ago but now he studies God’s Word without man’s interpretations. Amier asked Zev what he meant by that. Zev shared part of his testimony and how he found the Messiah, the Son of God who is God in the Jewish Bible through the Holy Spirit.
Amier became upset and told Zev that God does not have a son. Zev told him about God’s love, that He sent His Son the Messiah for our sins if we believe in Him. “Where does it say in the Tanach [Hebrew Bible – Old Testament] that God has a son?” Amier asked. Zev: “Everywhere.” It was clear that this was an appointment from God.
Amier was no longer upset but became interested and intrigued. Zev opened the Bible to
2 Samuel 7:14 –
“I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men.”
After reading this, Amier said that it was speaking of King Solomon. Zev: “It shows a future King Messiah.” Amier: “How?” Zev: “Does the Bible say King Solomon sinned?” Amier: “Yes, he did.” Zev: “Was he ever beaten or corrected anywhere in the Bible?” Amier: “No.” Zev: “This Son, who was beaten for our sins, is the Messiah. He was beaten for King Solomon’s sins, for my sins, for your sins and for all humanity’s sins. He was not only beaten but gave up His life so that you and I can have eternal life. That is the meaning here in 2 Samuel 7:14. It’s speaking about the Son of God, the Messiah.”
Zev then read
1 Kings 11:11-13 –
So the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant. Nevertheless I will not do it in your days for the sake of your father David, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son. However, I will not tear away all the kingdom, but I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen.”
After reading this, something supernatural happened. Amier told Zev that he was nervous talking about that there (in the Kotel) and asked if they could meet another time for study. We give all the glory to the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Lion of Tribe of Judah Yeshua the Messiah. Amen!
Zev continued to share with many as the Holy Spirit warmed up the people’s hearts in the very cold weather in Jerusalem.
Messiah of Israel Ministries’ outreaches would not be possible without your prayers and generous gifts of friends like you. As you continue to stand with us, we will keep sharing the Good News of Salvation available ONLY THROUGH YESHUA THE MESSIAH.
